Ninth Post

Speaking of suspension (see my seventh post), is this not one sweet, lovely-ass pair of suspenders? Braces are gonna be my new thing, I think. That, and vests. My coworkers already know what I’m talking about here, as I’ve worn both accessories to work over the last couple weeks, but I think I’m gonna have to weight my style more towards the elastic, since vests can really be hit-or-miss (size-wise). And expensive.
I want to look like some sort of neo-turn of the 20th century…guy. Maybe I’ve seen There Will Be Blood (see this movie) one time too many, or too many previews for The Assassination of Jesse James[...], but I can’t help but think those guys look sharp. Damn sharp. So Christian wants in.

“I heared tale of gold in them thar cammode!!”
That’s a terrible photo of me (paunchy much? I should’ve tucked in my shirt better)…but I’m loving this look. I can’t wait to apply some different suspender styles. Didn’t you know that suspenders are the new tie?
Anyhoo, my emulation doesn’t end there. I’m also trying to get into a Van Gogh-meets-Mark Twain look with my domepiece. I’m working on the hair (it’s gotta be big. Real big), but I think I’ve got the beard down:

True story: I once won a Van Gogh look-a-like contest. I was on TV and in the Boston Globe, even!
Now I just need some sweet boots…which I’ll probably never take off. That’s how they rolled (galloped?) in the nineteen-aughts.
